TV/Film

Gabby's Dollhouse

Writer and Voice Over/Script Coordinator on DreamWorks Animation Television's first mixed media show airing on Netflix & Nick Jr.  I helped develop new characters, lead voice direction, and write 3 episodes.  We also successfully produced 40 live-action segments safely during COVID.  Catch my first episode in Season 11, "Baby Alien Kitty," inspired by my love for Steven Spielberg's film, E.T., out on Netflix now.

Dawat

Dawat is a love letter to Bengali culture and its rich, often flawed, nature. Shown through the lenses of an intergenerational mother and daughter, Dawat explores prejudice, traditions, culture, power dynamics, familial relationships, and (most important of all) food. As Associate Producer, this proof of concept has been developed into a short film and is running on the film festival circuit.

The Man in the Woods

Best friends Mikey and Tommy were playing baseball until Mikey accidentally hits the ball and knocks Tommy unconscious. Tommy wakes up disoriented and instead of finding Mikey, he may have accidentally found someone else.

Dr. Anthropus (played by Kevin Gonzalez) and the Alien (played by Victoria Gomez) in the final act

In this final scene of The Happening, Dr. Anthropus (played by Kevin Gonzalez) meets the Alien (played by Victoria Gomez) for the first time. The play was entered into the 2018 Summer Festival at the Hudson Guild.

As the lighting director, playwright Roy Ruiz gave me creative freedom to choose whatever light design I wanted.  With only a film background, it was my first time working with stage lighting but I was excited for the challenge. I decided to focus on specific colors to match the moods and tones of each scene. Whether for stage or another medium, the color of a light has both a subconscious and conscious effect on how an audience interprets a scene before their very eyes.

I mixed red and blue to create varied hues of purple colors to signify the wisdom, magic, and inspiration the omnipresent Alien character represents. The Alien's white costume was underlit with warm white light to emphasize the raw and unfiltered feelings  that were exchanged between the two main characters.
