Bio

Anika Chowdhury Marziliano is from Queens, New York, described as the most diverse borough in the world where the diversity is so rich - it’s basically a cultural smoothie. If Shonda Rhimes’ Year of Yes book could be a whole personality—that’s Anika. She has said 'yes' to every opportunity; She produced a sociology podcast, associate-produced a short film with powerhouse gals she met on IG, co-hosted a live-streamed bilingual legal talk show with an immigration lawyer,  and played a background extra on NYC TV shows, (you can spot her in some episodes if you squint).

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Media Studies from Queens College with a minor in Business and Liberal Arts. There she learned how to make films with finite resources and still create a moving piece. She uses her media degree and background in media and performance to create  work that celebrates resiliency through comedy.

During college, she started her career as a freelance model. She photographed for multiple brands, including Make Up Forever Academy and FUBU. This led to her being cast in a few commercials and television shows, including locking eyes with Ravi Gavron in FX's The Godfather of Harlem and looking very stoic in ABC's Quantico.

As a Community Liaison & Producer at Time Television, a Bengali media company, she had the opportunity to wear many hats. She created and co-hosted a live 30-minute bilingual program with immigration lawyer Sumaiya Khalique to create more literacy and awareness around hot-topic immigration issues like visas, asylum status, and more for the Bangladeshi-American community. She also created a new media kit that forged cross-functional connections with new advertising clients,

She currently works for DreamWorks Animation Television on the critically acclaimed preschool live-action/animated show Gabby's Dollhouse, which airs on Nick Jr. and streams on Netflix. The show has garnered record-breaking views, making it one of the most popular original children's shows on Netflix. She helped produce 40 live-action segments and make creative decisions with the Showrunners.. She's written multiple episodes and is helping develop voices, characters, and scripts for a spin-off. Despite her parents’ hopes that she would be a doctor-lawyer-engineer, she knew she was meant for a nonlinear path. Inspired by the women around her,  she strives to write and produce stories centered around resilient and funny women rebelling against societal expectations through a dramedic lens.

In her free time, Anika loves to cook, write, binge-watch the latest shows, and play with her golden retriever, Clover. She is always looking for new projects to work on, and with her passion for storytelling, she is committed to using her skills to make a difference in the world.
